Mittens the Cat
|
Mittens is getting to be pretty old, but she is still going strong. Now that
the dogs are no longer with us, she spends her days lounging around and her
nights plotting against the neighborhood dogs.
One day she will expand her plans for world domination, but for now she
is secure in the knowledge that she is master of all she surveys.
Mittens is a fairly large cat. Some would say she's fat. (She's on a diet.) She was always too fast for the dogs to keep up with and any time they got too annoying she would simply go vertical and leave them below.
Until Mittens was declawed she had an extra toe on each of her two front paws,
complete with functional claws. She was a bit too reckless with them, though,
and with the addition of a baby to the household we decided better safe than
sorry and had her declawed. She was pretty miffed for a couple weeks, but has
readjusted. If you look carefully, you can still see her extra toes (sans
claws) that were the reason for her getting named Mittens in the first place.
So far the 55 gallon tank has the venerable plecostamus, 6 green cories, 2 chinese algae eaters, 1 oto catfish, 3 long-fin danios, 3 red wags, 3 creamsicle lyretail mollies, and 2 neon tetras. More neon tetras are definitely on the agenda.
At the moment the 10 gallon tank supports only two black mystery snails.
We do have a few pictures posted in the Aquarium Gallery on our website.
